Cheddar Individuality Trail

A community art creation and installation. A trail of clay figures, each unique, made by people in Cheddar and the Cheddar Valley area. A showcase of Cheddars creativity and individuality.

Cheddar Valley Window Wanderland

1 to 11 Dec Cheddar Valley Window Wanderland returns. Brought to you by seed with packs available from The Arts Quarter – create and enjoy festive window displays.

Cheddar Window Wanderland 2020

Last Christmas, Seed partnered with The Arts Quarter, Cheddar on a newly commissioned project, filling windows in Cheddar with creative festivity.

Create The Future

The pop up events, taking place in Highbridge, Bridgwater, Cossington and Cheddar, included the opportunity to have a go at some circus skills, make a badge or try some poetry writing.

Creative Conversations

Creative Conversations was a project run by local artists Karl Bevis and Rachel Gundry. Together, they spent 10 weeks talking to members of the community on the phone

Creative Isolation

Creative Isolation was a project that shared creative materials to encourage the community to get making, doing, shaping, cutting, sticking and engaging with the online live tutorials and support.

Creative Lives Under Lockdown

During lockdown, Seed launched five Creative Lives Under Lockdown micro-commissions.

During the very first Covid-19 lockdown in Summer 2020, Seed commissioned five local artists to develop creative activities that would engage, support and creatively connect people in Sedgemoor.

Desire Lines

This project offered an opportunity for residents of Sedgemoor to engage in a number of conversations and creative activities and workshops facilitated by artist Andrew Henon.

Front Garden Music Festival 2021

On Sunday 6th June 2021, we ran our first ever Front Garden Music Festival, and what a day it was! Local performers were invited to come out into their gardens and perform for their neighbours and members of the community.

GlowHome: Christmas Lanterns

Last year, Covid-19 and government guidelines on social distancing limited our capacity to get out and about in the same way to celebrate Christmas as a community.

Highbridge commissions

Through a multi-stage community consultation process with people living and working in Highbridge, Seed identified a great appetite locally for arts and other creative activities but the main barrier to participation is access.

Can you take a moment to stop? Take notice? Listen? And hear what is going on around you during your daily exercise? Or maybe take a moment in your garden? Or on the way to the shops? This was the inspiration behind Moments of Stillness.

The items we own, store and display provide a wonderful window into our selves and our identities and we wanted to see and share these glimpses of Sedgemoor.

Sketchbooks Unlocked

Run by The Arts Quarter in Cheddar, Sketchbooks Unlocked invited members of the community to unlock their creative potential and create journals, sketchbooks, memoirs, creative projects, story boards, comics, collections, studies…anything they liked!

Social Arts Practice & Me

In July and August, we ran two online facilitated interactive sessions led by artist & educator Rachel Dobbs.

Sound Design Artist

For the Moments of Stillness project, Seed sought expressions of interest to create a soundtrack for the community generated film.

Stepping Out: Loneliness project

In Spring 2021, Grant in Aid via Arts Council England funded a series of projects to combat loneliness and social isolation through Creative People and Places projects up and down the country.

The Nornen Project

The Nornen Project is bringing the story to life with a series of events and the creation of a brand-new theatrical production, all to celebrate the 125th anniversary of this local landmark in 2022.

Zoom Clubs

Over a 10-week period, local artists facilitated 15 different weekly Zoom Clubs, offering a wide variety of activities to the community.
