Call for Artists: Shape the Future of Bridgwater with the Eastover Mural!

About the Project

A 130m+ long wall—formerly part of the Sainsbury’s rooftop car park in Eastover—has been secured as the site for this high-impact mural. The theme, shaped by extensive community consultation, is “What’s Next?”—a concept that reflects Bridgwater’s past, present, and future.

Local residents have expressed a strong desire for a bold, distinctive artwork that represents Bridgwater in a fresh and forward-thinking way. Ideas from the consultation include:
✅ A celebration of Bridgwater’s unique identity—something recognisably “Bridgwater”
✅ Co-creation with the community—local artists and creatives should be involved
✅ A celebration of Carnival—as an integral part of Bridgwater’s culture
✅ A hopeful and celebratory vision of the town’s future
✅ Consideration of 3D or sculptural elements
