Cheddar Folk Banners Lino Carving Workshops

Carving Stories into Print

This is an invitation to help carve Cheddars Folk Stories into giant lino printing blocks – to create a series of banners. In a series of free workshops Inkjam will share technique and practice of lino cutting and printing and community members will help carve the folk stories into a form ready for print.

At the Arts Quarter in Cheddar 2023:

Illustrating Stories

Stories collected at coffee morning sharing sessions are being illustrated by children in Cheddar.  Fairlands Middle School are one of the groups contributing images to this project.

Meet the Artists

Artists Liz Bath and Ness Robinson collaborate on community arts projects and workshops as InkJam. Ink Jam has been commissioned by Seed to create the ‘Cheddar Folk Banners’ project with the community of Cheddar.

Ness Robinson

Ness is a Paper artist, working in Somerset. She has a degree in Illustration for Children’s Publishing and currently works to commission from her studio in The Arts Quarter, Cheddar where she is also a Director. She has a love for print and all things paper. She is one half of Ink Jam which she runs with Liz Bath to deliver paper and print workshops and projects to the community.

Ness Robinson

She developed a love of drawing and printmaking leading her to a Masters in Multi Disciplinary Printmaking at UWE and then to be a member at Spike Print Studios in Bristol. She is a founder member of InkJam alongside Ness Robinson, a community based Paper and Print enterprise bringing creative workshops and events to rural areas.u003c/pu003e
