New Opportunities for artists and the Seed Creative Popup

We are opening up commissions for Bridgwater projects including a new creative popup site!

Seed is looking to commission artists, community groups and organisations to engage the community of Bridgwater in new creative opportunities. Seed commissions are designed to support a wide range of artistic endeavors, from visual arts and crafts to performance and multimedia projects. We encourage proposals from artists at all stages of their careers, whether emerging or established, who are eager to contribute to Bridgwater’s cultural landscape.

We are particularly interested in activities that engage community members as participants and will reach those who do not normally take part.

Seed Creative Popup

This year, we are pleased to introduce a new way for artists to engage with the public – a creative popup space located in Angel Place Shopping Centre Bridgwater. This prime location will serve as a vibrant space for artists to exhibit their work, conduct workshops, and connect with the community. The space will be a blank canvas, enabling your ideas and activities to reach people who might not normally step over the threshold into a traditional arts and cultural facility.

*Note this location replaces the previously circulated expression of interest ideas for the former Poundland site on the Cornhill as this is no longer available due to the current disrepair of the building. Projects previously submitted to the Poundland site are encouraged to resubmit with changes reflecting the new location, timing size and opportunity of the new space.

We are open to a vast array of locations, artforms, ideas and approaches, but your idea must fit with the ideas and interests that the community members who have engaged in our consultation have put forward. Join us in celebrating the power of creativity and community!
