National Gallery Road Trip: Drop in AR Game Testing

Friday 1st March 11 am1 pm The Shepard Studio | The Engine Room

Calling everyone interested in art, technology or games! As part of the upcoming Art Road Trip, Seed, The National Gallery and Arcade are inviting the community to join them for a drop-in session to try a new AR digital painting experience.

We are looking for community members of all ages to help them test a new game we are developing, to encourage creativity and artistic skills for children and young people across the UK!

During the drop-in session, you will meet some of the team, get introduced to the game, have a chance to explore its features and most importantly share your thoughts!

This game will be joining us on our Art Road Trip so when the bus comes to you in 26 September – 7 October 2024 you’ll see the end product where your comments and thoughts have been put into practice!

Devices will be provided by the team and this exclusive preview event is FREE to all!

ARCADE

ARCADE is an internationally acclaimed mixed reality studio specialising in AI and XR experiences that make the world a more playable place.

Come to the Engine Room on Friday the 1st March to help test and give feedback on their National Gallery AR experience

The National Gallery – Art Road Trip

The National Gallery are taking art and creativity on the road, across the nation. From this May to May 2025, our travelling art studio programme, Art Road Trip, is visiting 18 places across the UK.

We’re going to be working with 24 local arts organisations to create community-led arts projects. In each location, we’ll design events for people with the least access to creative opportunities and the arts.

Our mobile art studio will host around two hundred public events and work with thousands of people to bring art and ideas inspired by the National Gallery Collection right to where they live.
