Individuality Project – Creative Writers

We are thrilled to step into 2025 with a brand-new project, once again commissioned by Seed Sedgemoor

Our journey began with the Cheddar Individuality Project, where over 1,000 ceramic figures were created. This was followed by Individuality Project Come Home, which allowed participants to make and keep their own ceramic figures.

Next, the Individuality Project traveled to Bridgwater and Highbridge, resulting in 300 figures and two exhibitions—one at St. John’s Church in Highbridge and another at the Seed Sedgemoor Pop-up Shop in Angel Place, Bridgwater.

Each project has celebrated the unique individuality of participants, and now, three years later, we are excited to launch Individuality Project – Creative Writers, where we will once again explore what makes us unique, this time through the written word…

Tell your story

The IP – Creative Writers project is all about encouraging people to tap into their creativity. We’ll be using the ceramic figures as inspiration to explore the theme of individuality in a fun and supportive way. The workshops will be led by the talented writer Rachel Bunce, with Bridget Hemmings—who’s been part of all the previous Individuality Projects—on hand to help out.

Together, we’ll bring your stories and poems to life, and the best part? Your work could be published in a book! So, if you’ve ever dreamed of seeing your writing in print, this is your chance!

Why Write?

We all have a story to tell, and each one is unique—that’s what the Individuality Project is all about. Just like the 1,300 people who each had 500g of clay to create completely one-of-a-kind ceramic figures, no two stories are ever the same. In this series of workshops, we’ll be swapping clay for pen and paper as we celebrate what makes each of us unique.
