Find out all about Sharon Jacksties and Jem Dick’s project here:
A chance for you to get stuck into creative writing and for your words to be seen by the public as they travel Sedgemoor bus routes. Until we can meet in person, Sharon will be running free drop in workshops on Zoom. If you are not already using Zoom it is free for anyone to download onto a computer or phone. To start with there will be 2 sessions a week, so contact seedsedgemoor.com/artfirst to say you are interested and Sharon will be in touch.
Workshops are open to everyone and will include word games and exercises leading to different kinds of writing, skill sharing and feedback. Beginners are as welcome as people who already have some writing to share – we will all be learning from each other as we create. Sharon is also collaborating with fellow artist, Jem Dick, who will be running visual art workshops. These too will be free to join, and your writing and pictures may end up mixed and matched with others’ work.
When lockdown eases we will have the opportunity to meet in groups and you might even see Jem and myself on and around First Buses performing poetry and inviting passengers to spread the creative word.
Jem will provide quarantined creativity packs including notebooks & pens available on buses for you to have a go with. He will run free virtual workshops on how to create images or words on paper, phone, tablet or computer. With your permissions we will post everyone’s contributions online. You can help to choose and combine the contributions to be put together by our professional designer for displaying on the buses.
You can upload your creations along with a selfie & your details to receive your free ‘Creative Licence’.
